The bodacious gift basket.
This is what happens when you give artists the task of creating a gift basket for the San Carlos Chamber Mixer. We have such generous artists here at the Art Center of Redwood City & San Carlos.
Art Center artists bringing it...
...with food, wine and art!!! So appreciative of our community here. It didn't hurt that the the San Carlos Chamber members were so welcoming and positive. They are welcome to The Art Center any time.
Filling the halls...
... with artists and art lovers. Had a great time last week with the San Carlos Chamber of Commerce during the monthly mixer. Chamber members and artists alike spoke afterwards of how lovely Zdenka Bleile's art is. (She is pictured in the background.) She is one of nearly 19 artists who will be participating in the upcoming Silicon Valley Open Studios in just a couple of short months.
Talking about our Mission...
Just before it got crazy busy...
It got to be standing room only in this studio with the halls leading up to it impassible. What a wonderful time had by all that evening! Very happy to have hosted the February networking mixer for the San Carlos Chamber of Commerce.
One of the cool things about Chamber Mixers...
... new to San Carlos business owners get to spread the word about their businesses. Having a great time in San Carlos.
San Carlos Chamber members get a chance to put their cards into a basket for a chance to win goodies. This chamber member was very excited to win our bodacious art basket!
Some of our artists...
... are also San Carlos Chamber Members. Enjoying some art and wine with the San Carlos community during an exclusive Open Studio event just for Chamber Members.
The Art Center, established in 1993 with support from the City Council of Redwood City, is dedicated to promoting visual art within the local community.

"Thank you for a wonderful open house experience yesterday. I spoke with you and several of the center's artists during my visit. Everyone was delightfully open and enthusiastic and didn't seem to mind spending time chatting with a 73 year old retired guy who is just discovering how rewarding it can be to do artwork." -- K. Perkins
"I can't thank you enough for [the Art Center/Art In Action collaborative event}, it was really a success.... the artists were so welcoming and and everyone seemed to have a great time. What great exposure for the kids to a real artist studio and real artists! The artists were so generous with their time and encouraging to the students. And what a nice spread--we really were impressed." -- K. O'Connor
We are constantly looking to support artists and collaborate in our community. If you have an idea you'd like to share or some art related assistance you think we might be able to provide, please let us know.
